I’m glad you’ve stopped by. Why am I here? I’m glad you asked! I want to be a source of encouragement and hope to women struggling with their identities in Christ. My heartfelt desire is for you to understand that the only person that can make you feel special and valuable is Jesus. How many of you have lived around people who made you feel like you weren’t good enough? Haven’t we all spent countless hours trying to please people and make them happy in an effort to win their acceptance and love? No matter how many people, places and things you’ve sought to gain acceptance, you will always come up empty and longing for more if Jesus isn’t at the center of your life. I spent years aimlessly trying to find a love that would satisfy the longings of my heart. I have found that in Christ.
He desires a close, intimate relationship with you. It took me years to understand how to put Him first. I went through a lot of brokenness by trying to do things my way. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to say no to the flesh. I knew that I had an enemy, but there were many times I didn’t even know that he was the one deceiving me. The enemy used relationships to take my eyes off the Lord. My flesh was weak, and my need to be loved was great. But God intervened in my life and rescued me out of a cycle of unhealthy relationships. He set me free to live a life totally devoted to Him. He has taken me on a journey and I have discovered that He is my One true love! He longs to bless me! I am His “Cinderella”. I’d always hoped that I’d meet someone who could meet my every need. I always wanted someone who understood me and could reach those places in my heart that longed for love. That has happened in my relationship with the Savior. He embraces my heart and I know that He is guiding me every step of the way. He is not distant and far away. He is up-close and personal. We are one! I am a daughter of the King, a child of God and His radiant bride. He is captivated by my beauty (Psalm 45:11).
Even though I accepted Christ at 12, I drifted away. It took me many years to return to Him. I was the prodigal. But He brought me back and has guided me to where I am today! He restored and redeemed what the locusts had eaten of my life. I have been in ministry for the past 25 years. In 1995, I married John, who was and still is the President of Broward Right to Life. I became Executive Director of BRTL in 1996 to the present. I teach over 100 abstinence/purity classes a year throughout the county. I have a passion to teach others how to say "no" to their fleshly desires and "yes" to Christ. His Holy Spirit can empower you to live a life of obedience to Him! It’s not easy, but as you seek His Word, you will find that He is always with you. As you cry out to Him each day, He will answer. He is faithful. You can break free of sinful behavioral patterns and ungodly lifestyles by putting Him first in your life. That is the key.
I started teaching Guard Your Heart classes in 2003. I felt led to share, in a very transparent way, the difficulties that I’d faced in relationships. I want women to understand that God wants what is best for them. His Word spells out the types of relationships we are to have. He wants us with someone who will love us unconditionally. He wants us to break free of people that hold us back from being all that God has called us to be.
The GYH classes center around how to walk with Him each day, without distraction. As I’ve taught these Biblical principles to others, God has done amazing things. As women draw close to Him and delve into His Word, He reveals Himself to them in mighty and profound ways. The closer they get, the more He shows up. We have testimony after testimony of life-changing transformations as a result of GYH. It is His Holy Spirit that is moving. It is His power that is transforming the lives of these individuals. It is only through Him that we have the ability to do anything. I’m just the instrument that God is using to direct others to the Savior. Please check out the testimonies connected to the website.
