A Relationship with Jesus Changes Everything!

Do you struggle with relationships?

How many of you have lived around people that made you feel like you weren’t good enough? Haven’t we all spent countless hours trying to please  people and make them happy in an effort to win their acceptance and love? Haven’t we sought relationships to make us feel complete? Haven’t we sacrificed so much of ourselves to make them work? 

And how many of us have come up feeling empty? We have experienced so much heartache. No matter how many people, places and things you’ve sought to gain acceptance from, you will always come up longing for  more if Jesus isn’t at the center of your life. He must be your focus. It took me years to figure this out.

I fell in and out of relationships. What an abusive cycle I was in. I did not feel confident and secure in my prior relationships. In fact, after the demise of each one, I found myself feeling more broken and alone. Your self-esteem definitely takes a hit. Why are relationships so hard. Why are they so challenging? What was I doing wrong?  Why was it so hard to figure out? Have you had any of these questions, ladies? Me too!! I get you. That’s why I’m here. To give you some answers to the many relationship questions you are struggling with. I want to help you navigate through these confusing waters. And they are confusing. I did not figure out how to do relationships on my own. God intervened to help me break the cycle.  He rescued me out of an unhealthy relationship. I was counseled by a pastor to leave the guy I had been dating. He wasn’t good for me. I had wasted too much time trying to make it work. I needed to put Jesus first. God had something better for me. He wanted to do great things in my life. But, I had to be obedient to his word. It was so painful, but I stepped out of the ungodly relationship and into living for the Lord.  

I always wanted someone who could reach those places in my heart that longed for love. That has happened in my relationship with Jesus. He has captured my heart and is guiding my every step. He is not distant and far away. He is up-close and personal. We are one! I am a daughter of the King! He wants that intimacy with you, too.

Guard Your Heart!

I have been encouraging women and teens to guard their hearts since 2006.  I share, in a very transparent way, the difficulties I have faced in relationships.  I used to be wrapped up in emotional chains, unable to understand why I was so needy. Why I stayed with individuals that caused me so much pain? I didn’t understand that the past rejection I’d experienced caused me to desperately cling to relationships to avoid another heartbreak. The lack of love and validation while growing up caused me to settle for “crumbs from the table”.  My thought: Dysfunctional love is better than no love at all. That is a very sad mentality.  I didn’t understand how my unresolved issues prevented me from experiencing a healthy relationship. My heart yearned for someone to love me unconditionally.  

And in my confusion, God met me there. He breathed new life into this wounded soul. He sets the captives free. I know, I am one of them. And, he wants to do the same for you. He wants to heal and restore your broken heart. He can enable you to make peace with your past.  He can enable you to forgive and move forward. You can learn to trust again. It is all because of Him. 

He has guided me to this place. He has revealed His truths to me.  Praise God! He has enabled me to step into my God-given destiny, as I have grown in my dependence on Christ. And I am excited to share these truths with you! Are you ready, ladies? Buckle up! We are on a journey to discover God’s healing and restorative power. 

I want to encourage you to seek after God with your whole heart. As you submit to the Lord and His will for your life, He will create beauty from the ashes. God can take your failures, insecurities and imperfections and create a new identity, one that is molded in His own image and likeness. 

My hope is that you will be confident that He has great plans for you. You were wired with gifts and talents meant to be used for His glory. He wants to do great things in and through you.  Don’t believe the lies and the past influences that have held you back. Embrace, with confidence, the incredible journey the Lord wants to have with you. You are a child of God and a daughter of the King.
